About This Spot

Stepping into Starbucks Reserve at the Empire State Building, you immediately sense that this is not the usual coffee stop. The space unfolds across multiple floors, each inviting visitors into a different rhythm—whether it’s the buzz of the main bar at street level, the curated showcase of rare coffee beans and small-batch roasts, or the intimate, quietly sophisticated cocktail lounge upstairs. Here, the usual rush of New York slows just enough to savor an elevated take on coffee culture, mixed with genuine moments of warmth and attention.

The atmosphere carries an unexpected elegance, with warm wood tones, thoughtful design details, and seating that encourages both conversation and quiet reflection. The pace here invites a pause—whether you’re grabbing a quick crafted cold brew or settling in for a relaxed brunch. The staff’s attentiveness contributes to a feeling that each guest's visit is a unique experience, shaped less by the clock and more by thoughtful service and genuine hospitality.

Food and drink play a central role in this layered experience, with offerings that go beyond the everyday. Imagine the richness of a freshly baked croissant sandwich alongside a meticulously brewed espresso flight or the intriguing depth of a whisky barrel-aged cold brew. Up above, cocktails thoughtfully crafted with coffee as a muse add another dimension, turning evenings into something quietly celebratory. The menu’s range—from avocado toast to housemade pizzas—feels like a local discovery, a chance to indulge in familiar favorites gently reimagined in this unexpected setting.

Despite the iconic location and the bustle below, Starbucks Reserve here manages to cultivate a welcoming, almost neighborhood-like vibe. It’s a place where tourists and locals alike can find a moment of calm, a friendly nod from the barista, or an invitation to explore coffee in ways both classic and surprising. Whether you’re craving a refined take on your morning routine or a thoughtfully mixed cocktail to close the day, this spot offers a layered, human experience that lingers beyond the last sip.

Unlike any Starbucks, I've ever been in, this seemed like An expensive shop. They weren't as friendly as the ones i've been to in the south, but they were making a lot of effort to be efficient. And quick. This location had a large number of food.Items that looked yummy and ones.I've never seen another starbucks! We just had a drink and it was great.

Starbucks Reserve Empire State Building is absolutely worth a visit. This location offers much more than a regular Starbucks experience. The first floor features the main bar, a showroom, plenty of merchandise, and a lively atmosphere. The second floor feels like a high-end bar with table service and a true dine-in experience. The space is elegant, the staff is friendly and professional, and they serve beautifully crafted signature cocktails—both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Prices are higher, but that’s expected given the concept and location. I especially enjoyed trying my favorite Whiskey Barrel Aged coffee, including a cold brew with whiskey—an amazing experience with great attention to detail. Tip: Try to visit outside peak hours. Weekends and afternoons can be very busy; mornings or late evenings are much more relaxed.

This was truly a one-of-a-kind experience! From the moment I walked in, everything felt warm and inviting. The staff were so polite, attentive, and genuinely friendly — it honestly felt like they cared about making every single guest comfortable and happy. That kind of service is rare these days, and it stood out to me immediately. I absolutely loved every part of the experience. I’m not usually someone who goes out of their way for coffee — in fact, I don’t even consider myself a “coffee person” at all. But what I had here was on a completely different level. It wasn’t just about the drink itself, but the way it was presented, the atmosphere, and the personal touch that made it feel so special. It made me appreciate coffee in a way I never have before. Part of me wishes more cities had something like this so everyone could experience it… but then again, maybe the fact that it isn’t everywhere is what makes it so unique. If it became too common, it might lose the magic. So in a way, I’m glad it’s tucked away like this — it makes discovering it feel like such a treat. Overall, I’d say this was not just about coffee, but about the whole experience — the people, the vibe, and that little spark of something special that’s hard to put into words. I’ll definitely remember this place for a long time, and I’d recommend it to anyone who wants more than just a quick coffee stop — it’s an experience in itself.

$35 for a flight of espresso martinis that are maybe 3 sips each is a bit much, but it's Starbucks. Also they seem to have some aversion to water. The glasses are like maybe 5oz, so be prepared to keep asking for water. But the staff is nice and responsive, so at least there's that. Didn't get any actual food, but it was reasonably priced and the flight of martinis was pretty good. Also grabbed an old fashioned, which was also quite good. Also many of the tables are very close to each other, so be prepared to listen to other people's conversations... I probably wouldn't come here regularly, but stopping here as a one off was fine.

We visited the downstairs cafe space, and upstairs cocktail bar as well as the middle floor “normal” store. The cafe space downstairs was a brilliant experience, the staff were welcoming and attentive (especially to our 2 year old). Service was slower than a typical Starbucks, but that’s to be expected if you’re sitting in ordering speciality drinks- it’s an experience, not a grab and go. The cocktail bar offers a unique experience, with a beautiful setting. Service was friendly, however it was slow - but the environment is nice to sit in and have a conversation. A nice pace compared to the hustle of the city. The middle floor is a relatively normal Starbucks, with exclusive merchandise which is pretty cool. Again staff on the door, including security, are very friendly and welcoming - especially when pushing a stroller. We visited the reserve Roastery whilst in New York and much preferred the Empire State Reserve for service, atmosphere and over all experience.
